Karen has been coaching senior managers and management teams for over 15 years as both an executive coach and in her previous roles as Head of Human Resources and Head of Learning and Development for JP Morgan Asset Management EMEA.

Coaching Style

Karen’s clients cite her insight and her ability to be both supportive and challenging as key to the effectiveness of her coaching. She creates the space for them to identify their own best options and solutions while at the same time helping them to become more self-aware and aware of the impact they have on others. Her in-depth understanding of the business as both a client advisor and senior management team member underpins and enriches her work. Senior executives like her pragmatic approach and appreciate that she understands their context and the associated issues and opportunities.

Karen has extensive experience in the areas of leadership and management at all levels, team building, performance management, and employee engagement. She particularly enjoys working with clients at a point of inflection in their careers where it is time for them to broaden their impact and influence across an organisation. In her maternity coaching, Karen works with senior management supporting her clients to successfully and positively manage this life changing transition.

Background

Karen was with JP Morgan for over 20 years in their New York, London, and Sydney offices. She spent nearly 10 years in New York in client facing roles in capital markets and asset management.

In 1998 Karen moved from New York to London with JP Morgan to become Head of Human Resources for Asset Management in EMEA and then in 2001 became Head of Learning and Development.  She served on the European Management Team and managed a team of eight based in London and Geneva.

Training and Qualifications

Karen has completed the Coach's Programme at The School of Coaching in London (founded by Myles Downey). It is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the EMCC at Senior Practitioner Level (Level 7). She has a BA in Economics from Wellesley College, USA.
